Director Talents Movie Awards (former name Budapest Movie Awards) is a unique IMDB Qualifying Film Awards event with live screenings in London. We are seeking films that can immerse us in the new world we live in, as seen through the eyes of independent auteurs of any gender, nationality, age, and ethnicity. Our festival was ranked by FilmFreeway as TOP 100 MOST POPULAR FILM FESTIVALS in EUROPE.

Home to some of the most interesting young filmmakers of our time, our competition has hosted Palm D´Or Winners, Oscar Nominees, EFA winners and many other great filmmakers who began their careers among the selected authors of our previous editions.

Diamond Chair Award celebrates excellence in young filmmaking, focusing on new tendencies, particularly emphasizing originality, language innovation, aesthetics, and the artisanality of the image.

In the past, our festival was known as the Budapest Movie Awards and was held annually at the Art+ Cinema Budapest in Budapest. The name change came because we decided to specify our goals and values of the festival - and that is the support of talented film directors. Over four years, we have hosted more than 10 screenings, networking parties and awarded the best directors.

We received more than 10,000 submitted films from 125+ countries worldwide  over the four years.
Our partners include  Wopé, Art+ Cinema Budapest, T-Port Market, IMDb, and For9a.

Our festival has already welcomed real film stars. We have screened films like "Sideral," directed by Carlos Segundo, an Official Selection at the Festival de Cannes 2021,, also available on HBO MAX. Last year, we premiered two films that debuted at the Festival de Cannes 2023  in Hungary: "Tits" by Norwegian director Eivind LANDSVIKand "Fár" by Icelandic director Gunnur Martinsdottir Schluter.

We have featured films at the festival that have also found success on major streaming platforms such as MUBI ("High on Life" directed by Radislav Jovanov), Amazon Prime ("Disconnected" directed by Diego Rougier), and others. The winner of the STUDENT OSCAR, Tamara Denić, was among our winning films.

Every year, the festival features an interesting program and workshops. Networking, which occurs after each screening, is an essential component of our festival. Our moderator will guide you through the festival. The festival will awards diplomas, trophies,  $ 1,000 in cash prizes,  $ 5,000 worth of services every year, and last but not least, it will be a movie experience.

2025 Live Screening will take place at Whirled Cinema London.
